Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all Erurete services. Please read them carefully before booking.

Tutoring Terms & Conditions

Cancellations & Notice

Late cancellation

Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged in full, regardless of session length (60–120 minutes). Consistency is essential to your child's progress, and regular weekly attendance is strongly encouraged to fully consolidate new skills.

Ending tutoring

A minimum of two weeks' notice is required to end tutoring altogether. If less than two weeks' notice is given, two weeks' worth of sessions will be charged.

Breaks

Breaks of up to three consecutive weeks can be accommodated. If a break extends beyond three weeks, the regular session slot may be offered to the next student on the waiting list, and continued availability from that point cannot be guaranteed.

Attendance & Preparation

Punctuality

Students are expected to arrive on time and come fully prepared for each session, with all necessary equipment (e.g. pens, pencils, calculator, and any other relevant materials).

Homework

Homework is set weekly and should be attempted to the best of the student's ability. There is no expectation of entirely correct answers. The aim is genuine effort and engagement with the material.

Feedback & Communication

Feedback

Regular feedback is provided to parents/guardians after every session. Should further discussion be needed beyond this, it can be arranged either during the student's session time or as a separately scheduled (and charged) appointment.

Communication

Open communication is important to a successful tutoring relationship. Please raise any questions, concerns, changes in circumstances, or an intention to end sessions as early as possible.

Payment

Payment terms

Payment is due in advance, for a full month of sessions, on an agreed date each month. If payment is not received by the agreed date, sessions will not take place until payment is made.

Safeguarding & Sessions

Parent/guardian presence

For face-to-face sessions with students under 16, a parent or guardian is welcome to be present throughout, if preferred.

Recording

Online sessions may not be recorded by either party without prior written consent.

DBS check

A current, clean DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is held, and details can be provided upon request.

Admissions & Application Coaching Terms & Conditions

Cancellations & Notice

Given the limited number of sessions and the deadline-sensitive nature of this service, at least 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice will be charged in full.

Payment

Payment is due in full before the Single Diagnostic Session, or before the first session of a Coaching Package.

Outcomes

This service is designed to strengthen the quality of an application through honest, evidence-based coaching. It cannot guarantee any specific admissions outcome, as this depends on many factors beyond the personal statement, portfolio, or interview preparation alone.

Student Mentoring Terms & Conditions

Cancellations & Notice

As mentoring is arranged fortnightly, monthly, or on an ad hoc basis rather than weekly, at least 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session. Because sessions are already infrequent, missing one without notice represents a proportionally larger gap in support.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of booking, or in advance for any agreed ongoing arrangement.

Scope

This is mentoring and practical support, not therapy or counselling. If something arises that needs more than mentoring can hold, part of this role is helping you find the right professional support.

General Terms

About Me

Erurete is operated by Elpi Lutaya as a UK sole trader. For any queries relating to these terms, contact tutoring.achievesuccess@gmail.com.

Acceptance of Terms

By booking, paying for, or otherwise engaging any of my services, including Tutoring, Admissions & Application Coaching, and Student Mentoring, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, together with my Privacy Notice.

Data & Privacy

I take your privacy seriously. Full details of what personal information I collect, how it's used, and your rights are set out in my Privacy Notice, available on this website.

Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page. Continued use of my services after any changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of every child I work with is taken extremely seriously. As part of my commitment to safeguarding: personal email addresses or phone numbers must not be exchanged directly with any student under the age of 16. For students aged 12–15, direct contact details may only be exchanged with the prior written consent of a parent or guardian. For students under 12, no direct exchange of personal contact details is permitted under any circumstances.

Complaints

Any complaint should be raised in writing as soon as possible. I aim to respond within 24 hours.

My Right to End a Working Relationship

This applies across all services. I reserve the right to end a working relationship in circumstances such as:

  • Multiple consecutive sessions missed or cancelled
  • Disrespectful conduct
  • For Tutoring specifically: a lack of expected progress due to insufficient effort or commitment

Where this occurs, two weeks' notice will be given, along with the reasons for ending the arrangement. I am committed to being transparent and will always explain my reasoning.

My Cancellation

This applies across all services. In the event that I need to cancel a session (e.g. due to illness or an emergency), as much notice as possible will be given. Depending on the circumstances, one of the following will be offered:

  • A full refund for the missed session
  • The payment carried forward towards a future session
  • An alternative day/time, where possible

I will always do my best to accommodate you, though availability of these options cannot be guaranteed in every circumstance.

Liability

I do not currently hold public liability insurance. Sessions take place online, at my home, or at the student's home, and reasonable care is taken to provide a safe environment wherever I am responsible for the setting.

For sessions held at the student's home, the family is responsible for the safety and suitability of their own premises. For sessions held at my home or online, I take reasonable care to keep the environment safe and appropriate.

In the rare event of an emergency during a session, I will contact emergency services where necessary and inform parents/guardians immediately.

I am committed to teaching to the best of my ability at all times. Progress and results depend significantly on the student's own effort, engagement, and consistency. Students who fully engage with lessons and homework are likely to see meaningful improvement, though I cannot promise specific outcomes, as many factors beyond my control can affect results.

My total liability in connection with any service is limited to the fees paid for that particular service. I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss.
